The strength of strength (training)
Many years ago I was really suffering from a L5/S1 back issue. It was debilitating. Frustrating…
What I’ve learned/learning from a friends passing…
It’s been 1 year since my friend Melinda passed. I’ve struggled with processing her death. How and what I’ve learned in her passing. More to come!
To let go….
Pretty ambiguous eh? I promise my friends, I won’t leave you hanging.
From the Fischer Institute: “In psychology, letting go is more about mentally releasing our attachment to something. Rather than struggling to keep someone in our lives or insisting on a specific outcome, we relinquish that need or craving and instead accept what is or what must transpire.”
That “feeling” we get as we age.
Celebrate! You have a choice.
I just finished 2 weeks on the road. The racing was next level throughout the categories. Beginners to pros. One thing that stuck with me as a wrote this.
It’s ok…to stop and look 👀
We are increasingly becoming indoor people. More people now live in cities versus the countryside. Technology has furthered the divide from the days of my childhood….
Survive and Advance. Need a hug?
Most of you know that I am a sports fan. I’m not as much of a “sports fan” now as I was when I was younger. However, I still enjoy watching the tactics, passion, and pageantry of collegiate and pro sports.
This is why I won’t stop…and a key to happiness.
The key to happiness and a full-hearted thanks and appreciation to all of you who read my blog.
We aren’t always a 10
I’m sure you’ve heard me talk about walking the walk lately. Not the old-school philosophy of my dad. “Do I say, not as I do.”
Do you have good timing?
DOPAMINE! That magical training elixir hits us like a ton of feel-goods. It’s your “reward” system. Here’s the problem. This dopamine rush can get your long-term goals in trouble!
Part 3: Why do I feel trapped and not able to move forward?
Things just aren’t the same, are they? How tired are you of the new “normal”?
Part 2: Does my past dictate/predict my future?
When I analyze power files in cycling, we use something that’s called a “Performance predictor”.
Part 1: Are we avoiding the challenges?
Are we avoiding the challenges that are becoming a part of our daily lives? What about our motivation?
“What’s the fine these days for exceeding the LeGaL positivity limit? 😋”
This isn’t going to be some bouji woo-woo type of talk. It’s all about mindset. Yesterday started off well for me. I’m trying to process all the sad and bad and turn them into good and positive
Theory: Metallica to Mozart: For training purposes only.
Hold tight you guys…I know you are thinking that Chad has gone off his rocker (further). Hear me out. Today I did my standard early walk. Yes, I was on the hunt for the latest #DailyDog. Got home, made a quick lunch, and then headed to the gym….
Self compassion: You ain’t the only one.
I’ve been told that I’m a caring person (Family/clients and friends. Sometimes for the greater good, sometimes to my detriment.
It’s 2:36am.
For real, 2:30am-3am. A bit of positive insomnia. 😀
The blessing and the curse of having a mind that is clear, focused and determined is sleep. The past 20 years, I’ve had pretty poor sleep hygiene. Stress, work, life, etc.
“Always choose yourself first.”
You have sensed a trend, if you have been reading my blog lately, that self-care is critical. Choosing yourself means focusing on your own happiness and navigating towards what adds positivity to your life without hesitance.
