Do you know you? Knowing oneself.

I did a quick story, two days ago, that quoted a great saying from Gabor Mate: “Knowing oneself comes from attending with compassionate curiosity to what is happening within”.

Do we really know ourselves, post-Covid? After time, I was able to work with myself in a whole new way. I learned how to cultivate healing, trust, and connection with myself and how to change the inner dialogue. What is your inner dialogue saying to you? I’m not a psychologist, nor am I a psychiatrist. If you are struggling with your inner dialogue, I would suggest seeking out a true professional in this space.

I do know how people are motivated, and unmotivated to do the work in their training and how it correlates with their personal and professional lives. Their demons interfere with their training, their work, and their home life.

The best way to deal with post-Covid and the dynamite stick it has done to businesses and personal lives is to “Know oneself”. We (I) embraced the pleasure principle (science) and Non-science mumbo jumbo: The instinctive drive to seek pleasure and avoid pain, expressed by the id as a basic motivating force that reduces psychic tension.

I have worked with many athletes that still are challenged with the balance of life and “knowing oneself”. It takes time, energy, effort,. Don’t be discouraged or frustrated. This latest version of us takes work. I grabbed the shovel and dug out the dirt. Grab a shovel and let’s start digging out together.
